Pink and Black

Today's card I wanted to use Pink and Black, but then Old Olive crept in....can't seem to get away from Old Olive- Love the color!! Anyway...I spent the day yesterday going through all of my stamp sets and moving all of the retired ones to two bottom shelf's...and I realized I have more retired sets then I thought. I had them arranged by category, but I decided it was time to take inventory of all of the current ones. Once I was done it was much easier to pick from the pile and grab a set to use to show..Not that retired ones are bad, because there are definite keepers in that pile!! (uh...but no.. I don't need all of them- but then again do we need any of the stamps we have??)My Problem is ribbon........Ohhhh...you can never have too much ribbon. So I thought I would share some pictures of my little area I call my own in the basement, and then I'll show you the card for the day...

This first picture is of two sets of shelf's from Ikea, this is where I keep a lot of my gotta have stuff! :> The Dots on the stamp sets represent which category they belong too.....

The two + bottom shelf's look like this.......which are all retired (all of the Orange dots) I think its time to go through and figure out the gotta have ones and get rid of the other ones to make room for new ones!!

The next pictures is of my ribbon storage, it's from Home Depot and it's used for pantry doors to store food of sorts, but works perfectly to hold a ton of ribbon!!

The next picture is where I store my 8 1/2 x 11 paper and my ink pads...

The Storage for the ink pads was from a school auction, the original purpose was for holding die cuts at a craft store, but works perfectly for the stamp pads, as well as each tray has a matching ink sponge, this way I'm not buying sponges all of the time. Sadly it doesn't hold the re-inkers, but hey it works for me for now! :>

The next two pictures are just misc pictures, it's never ever clean, so I figured I would just snap a couple of pictures anyway...

Okay enough about that, here's the card for the day... It's from the Wedding Set "Together Forever", and you know what, I've never used it for a wedding card, just random cards...Let me know what you think, this was the first time I tired using the ribbon this way, I think I like it, but not sure maybe it's missing something???

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Together Forever
Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black Whisper White, Old Olive and DP is from the Sending Love in the mini catalog.
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, and Black Staz On
Accessories: Pink Satin Ribbon, Silver Brads, Stick Strip (Red Tape) and glue dots used to hold the ribbon down.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

5 minute Card!!

Oh my gosh things have been busy today- but good news.....I just put my Stampin Up! order yesterday, yes yesterday around 10am, and I just got it about 30 minutes ago....and I couldn't wait to play with my new stencils....Yep that's right, I purchased the Folk Flowers on page 18 of the mini catalog, as there was a card from Jenny Peterson on the Stampin Connection site that I just had to CASE- but of course I changed it up a bit, but here it is....

The base of the card is Night of Navy, and then I used the textured plate from the Backgrounds 1 set (the polka dots), and the sponged Night of Navy, Old Olive and Rose Red. This card literally took me 5 minutes to make! (okay now honestly does it look like it??) :>

I need to play with it some more, maybe some brighter springy colors, but today, I just picked a few favorite colors as they always look good together. I also love love using this Night of Navy ribbon from the Ribbon Originals on page 182 of the IBC- Elementary for $9.95. Love it!!

Diva Inspiration Challenge #87

I don't typically do challenges, but I saw this one and knew the stamp set I wanted to use. Upsy Daisy- which is in the IBC on page 95 for $18.95. The inspiration picture was the below picture:

And this is what I came up with:

The colors are Crushed Curry and the DS Paper is from the Sweet Pea paper pack in the mini on page 33-$19.95. I stamped the image with white craft ink, and then heat sealed it. I went back and used my watercolor pencils to color in the images, including the white- which I then smeared a bit to give it somewhat of a chalky look (is that a word??). The punches are the modern label punch layered with the word punch in black.
Thanks for stopping by!! :>

Check out my Hair bows, they are also located under "items for sale", I'll be putting more out in the next day or two.

I thought I would also post some pictures of my daughter and my niece at the table making cards- I'm starting them young :> they both are 4........

This is Madison my 4 year old.... (who rarely combs her hair unless absolutely necessary!)

This is Olivia my niece who just turned 4 this past Sunday.

And here they both are...........making a mess!!
Have a great day!

Two Cards today- WOW- I had to CASE this one from Rachel I loved her card, but instead I used bordering Blue instead of pretty in pink like she used. I also spritzed it using the shimmer paint, but you can't see it in the picture- but trust me it's nice and shimmery :> The Stamp set is called "Inspired by Nature", I haven't pulled this one out for sometime, but I'm glad I did...
\

The second card is called "Herb Expression" this was the first time I pulled this one out, I think I like it :>- the ribbon was died (sponged) with Elegant Eggplant, since Stampin Up! doesn't currently have any purple satin ribbon, I had to make my own.

And see no Birthday cards today!! Tomorrow I'll post some Hair Bows that I have been making from Stampin Up! Ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by!!
