Petite Pansies

I know, I know- it's been way to long- things have just been crazy busy and haven't had much time to go down to the dungeon and stamp. So my fix for that is to pull out one of my Simply sent card kits....I whipped this one up in a hurry, as I was feeling quite guilty for not posting anything!! It's a quick and easy card, but when you don't have much time and everything is cut for you this is a great solution!!
Still, though I need some new stamps for inspiration...........I might just have to break down and order some new ones :>
Here's the card for the day- or should I say week.......oh gosh I hope not- hopefully I'll be able to find some more time to get to work :>

Supplies:
Stamp set: Petite Pansies Simply Sent Card Kit
Card Stock- Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, and Very Vanilla (all which comes in the kit)
Ink: Perfect Plum, Old Olive, and So Saffron.
Accessories: 5/8th Grosgrain Very Vanilla Ribbon, and Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Impression Folder.

Thanks all for stopping by- sorry it took me so long to post- I'll try to be MUCH better :>

Vintage Vogue

Happy Thursday!! I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, it was a crazy day, busy!!. Once again it's rainy here in Utah.....I really need the SUN to stay!

Really quick here is my card for the day using The Vintage Vogue set from the Mini Catalog.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue
Card Stock- Bermuda Bay, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, Old Olive and Whisper White.
Ink: Bermuda Bay Certainly Celery, and Old Olive.
Accessories: Big Shot- Top Note Die and Scallop Circle #2 Die (used the negative piece to sponge Certainly Celery in the middle). Old Olive Satin Ribbon, and a Silver Brad.

And one more quick picture- This is what happens when you have too many cats already and graciously agree to take two Kittens from your sister when your unemployed and don't have the $$ to get them fixed before this kind of thing happens............Thanks Jen!!!! and guess what the other one is pregnant too!!!..........sigh............for those that don't know, briefly....I was working for a major corporation for almost 16 years, and had transferred with them 3 times, and my option in 2009 again was to either relocate or to stay here in Utah. I decided to stay and take a severance package and have been out of work since October of 2009, and my unemployment doesn't start until this next week- that's 6 months, yes 6 months without income :<.....so needless to say these two little Kitty's will be taken care of just as soon as I can! (okay one more time..... Thanks Jen!!) :> Love you!!
By the way- anyone in Utah, want a kitten when they're ready?? :>-

Thanks for stopping by- have a great Thursday!!

Happy Birthday to my Youngest Son!!

Happy Tuesday!!
Today is my youngest son's Birthday- he's 15!! Wow- I can't believe it!! He decided to stay home from school to spend time with his Mom- how sweet (or was it how sweet of me to let him??) :>. Since it's so hard to make teenagers cards, I had a bit of problem deciding with stamp set to use. I dug around, and found stamps for little kids, then dug some more and found the frogs- not that this is so appropriate for someone turning 15...but this is what he's getting :> I had originally bought this stamp set for a girl at work (uh......yes when I was working) for her to make her nieces baby shower invites, and I've never used it since.
I first stamped the images and then blended them a bit with a blender pen, then took my versa marker and went over the images then used clear embossing powder and embossed the images. I then sponged some water, and a sky for a little more depth...I think the water looks like mountains, but hey.....I'm pretty sure he won't care (I hope)-... Anyway.........here's the card:

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Hoppy For You, and sentiment from Crazy for Cupcakes.
Card Stock: Old Olive (I know, I know, I'm always using it!), Basic Black, Water coloring paper, and DSP from the Sweet Pea paper pack.
Ink:Black Stazon, Certainly Celery, Creamy Carmel, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze (figured it was okay to use since it's coming back in July...YIPPIE)...Apricot appeal, and Not Quite Navy.
Accessories: Basic Black 5/8th Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop border punch, sponges and Stampin dimensionals

Have a great Tuesday!!

New Colors in July!!

Good Morning!!- So......I'm having a rough week....so I decided to pull out the new colors that I received in my Stampin Success Magazine and play around a bit. I wanted to use as little as possible so I would still have some to play with later, so I tried my hand at quilling- which I have NEVER EVER done- but it didn't use up too much of my new precious colors :> I really wanted to just use two of them, the Marina Mist and the Daffodil Delight, but then I added two more as I went.... I'm not 100% sure I like what I came up with, but that's been the story so far this week. I keep trying, then end up tossing what I've done- Do you ever have one of those weeks?? (and...it's ONLY Tuesday!!)

I think I have some issues with using the same set over and over...but if you love it- gotta use it!!

You Can't tell very well but I had used the technique "Kissing" on the butterfly with one of the small stamps from the Tiny Tag set in the Mini Catalog, as well as stamped the background with one of the little stamps. Such a cute stamp set!!.

Pink and Black

Today's card I wanted to use Pink and Black, but then Old Olive crept in....can't seem to get away from Old Olive- Love the color!! Anyway...I spent the day yesterday going through all of my stamp sets and moving all of the retired ones to two bottom shelf's...and I realized I have more retired sets then I thought. I had them arranged by category, but I decided it was time to take inventory of all of the current ones. Once I was done it was much easier to pick from the pile and grab a set to use to show..Not that retired ones are bad, because there are definite keepers in that pile!! (uh...but no.. I don't need all of them- but then again do we need any of the stamps we have??)My Problem is ribbon........Ohhhh...you can never have too much ribbon. So I thought I would share some pictures of my little area I call my own in the basement, and then I'll show you the card for the day...

This first picture is of two sets of shelf's from Ikea, this is where I keep a lot of my gotta have stuff! :> The Dots on the stamp sets represent which category they belong too.....

The two + bottom shelf's look like this.......which are all retired (all of the Orange dots) I think its time to go through and figure out the gotta have ones and get rid of the other ones to make room for new ones!!

The next pictures is of my ribbon storage, it's from Home Depot and it's used for pantry doors to store food of sorts, but works perfectly to hold a ton of ribbon!!

The next picture is where I store my 8 1/2 x 11 paper and my ink pads...

The Storage for the ink pads was from a school auction, the original purpose was for holding die cuts at a craft store, but works perfectly for the stamp pads, as well as each tray has a matching ink sponge, this way I'm not buying sponges all of the time. Sadly it doesn't hold the re-inkers, but hey it works for me for now! :>

The next two pictures are just misc pictures, it's never ever clean, so I figured I would just snap a couple of pictures anyway...

Okay enough about that, here's the card for the day... It's from the Wedding Set "Together Forever", and you know what, I've never used it for a wedding card, just random cards...Let me know what you think, this was the first time I tired using the ribbon this way, I think I like it, but not sure maybe it's missing something???

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Together Forever
Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black Whisper White, Old Olive and DP is from the Sending Love in the mini catalog.
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, and Black Staz On
Accessories: Pink Satin Ribbon, Silver Brads, Stick Strip (Red Tape) and glue dots used to hold the ribbon down.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
